Gippsland based Longwarry Food Park announced their opening price to farmers today of $4.85/kgMS or 36.20 cents per litre, pushing them 2% ahead of the opening price of Murray Goulburn and 11% ahead of Fonterra Australia.
The announcement continues the strong competition in Gippsland from milk companies such as Burra Foods, United Dairy Power and Murray Goulburn. Fonterra Australia are widely expected to revise their initial opening price up from $4.36/kgMS to come into line with other leading milk companies.
